Aperol has been charming drinkers for over a century. In 1919, brothers Luigi and Silvio Barbieri created Aperol after taking over their father’s liqueur company. Through years of experimentation, they developed Aperol aperitivo, which gained popularity in the cafés of Padua and traditional bars of Venice, especially after World War I. In the 1950s, it rose to prominence as Aperol Spritz: a refreshing blend of Aperol, prosecco and soda water. Today, Aperol continues to bring a burst of color and joy across the globe.
A Splash of Orange in the Swiss Alps
Aperol – often described as sunset in a glass – is usually associated with sunny terraces, summer vibes and carefree moments. During the recent winter months, it brought that same joyful spirit to the snowy peaks of Switzerland. Under the slogan “Join the Joy,” Aperol extended its philosophy of togetherness and spontaneity into the heart of the cold season. Snow lovers were invited to Crans-Montana, Arosa and Lenzerheide for a unique après-ski experience. Guests could enjoy Spritz Music Sessions with DJ beats, toast with friends and embrace a festive alpine spirit. The highlight of the season was the Aperol Snowcat – a snowcat transformed into a mobile bar and DJ stage, complete with light shows and special effects, set against the breathtaking backdrop of snow-covered mountains. Whether relaxing at a cozy mountain restaurant or dancing at a vibrant winter club, Aperol offered the perfect way to unwind. In Switzerland – where apéro culture blends with alpine charm – Aperol added a sparkling touch of Italian flair. With branded venues in Crans-Montana, Arosa and Lenzerheide, winter gatherings became even more memorable. Whether young or old, on the beach or in the Alps, Aperol captures the essene of its iconic sunset moment in a glass – a vibrant celebration made to be shared.

Aperol Snowcat: A Mobile Après-Ski Oasis
For the first time in Switzerland, Aperol introduced its custom-designed Snowcat – a unique mobile bar that took après-ski to new heights. Stationed at Cry d’Er in Crans-Montana and Crest’ota in Lenzerheide, the Snowcat offered a cozy bar experience throughout the week, glowing with LED lights and stage effects as the sun set. On weekends, the Snowcat transformed into a party. With a DJ booth, live music, laser shows and bubble effects, it created an unforgettable sunset celebration. Guests snapped photos at the Aperol photo wall and took home exclusive souvenirs, like vibrant orange colored Aperol-branded hats and sacrves to remember their Italian-style alpine adventure. The playlist – a mix of Swiss classics and Italian hits – captured the perfect cultural fusion. Beyond the Snowcat, winter revelers soaked up the Aperol spirit at 20 dedicated venues across Crans-Montana, Arosa and Lenzerheide. These lively spots featured signature Aperol décor, vibrant music sessions and the classic Aperol Spritz.
